AFL Sonnet (As Promised)

This year’s been a big one for the league,

The Tiger’s can actually win believe it or not,

Sleeping pills have helped Cousin’s with fatigue,

And Fremantle might actually have a shot,

 

The Blues should just give up here and now,

The Dogs are good for nothing except Barry Hall,

Hawthorn are doing alright, I’m not sure how,

And Fev should learn how to kick the ball,

 

 Choco left the Port in a choking mess,

The Saints still know how to pick a fight,

The Etihad surface leaves everyone in distress,

And West Coast have become a sorry sight,

 

Come September, Geelong will cop it on the chin,

Because everyone knows the Mighty Pies will win.

A Sonnet

I made a bet with my Literature teacher that I could write a sonnet in Shakespearean form about AFL Football. I dunno if there are any footy fans out there :P But I felt like sharing it with you since it’s the first real work I’ve done for lit in months. And i’m liek a footy nut so I’m proud of it ;-)

Ok now for some gay reason it won’t post properly without like 10 spaces in between each line.
